Who Sabotaged the Nord Stream Pipelines?
Both the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, Germany’s primary delivery source of natural gas, have been sabotaged. Many in Western media have simply been reporting leaks coming from the pipelines, while all evidence points to a strategic act of destruction. I cannot believe I am writing this right now.
This was no accident. There was no mistake. The pipelines have been deliberately attacked, and if recent reports prove to be true, the Nord Stream 2 has been all but rendered useless. The only question is, who would benefit from such a thing?
I’m not in the mood to tackle this one passively so I’m going skip the bullshit. The depths of the two pipelines are more than likely far too deep for divers to reach. You would need a submarine capable enough to successfully pull off such a covert act of sabotage and escape detection, and there are very few countries that possess such vessels. Ukraine sure ain’t one.
And as for Ukraine, Zelenksy is blaming Russia, claiming it to be a false-flag attack. He’s become much like a parrot with that statement, but I digress. What sense would it make for Russia to destroy a multi-billion-dollar, multi-year project it had with Germany which was set to go forward prior to the war? This wouldn’t weaken relations with Germany, it would sever them entirely, and immediately. More than anything else, it simply doesn’t make any sense.
What would make sense is an act of sabotage by a party who would greatly benefit from an accelerated economic collapse in Europe as well as the destabilization of Russia. The two happening simultaneously would be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Destroying the Nord Stream pipelines might possibly be the best chance one could ever get to kill these two specific birds with one stone. It would be evil and it would be coldblooded, but war is hell, baby.
On top of this it would also kill Russia’s strongest form of leverage against Western sanctions. Before, Russia could hold the coming winter over Germany and the rest of Western Europe’s heads to bend them ever so slightly to Moscow’s will. Now, it doesn’t matter where any of these nations stand with one another, no gas will flow from either of those pipelines. At least not anytime soon. So back to my question, who would benefit the most from this scenario? You know the answer to that question.
The only downfall would be the innocent life caught in the middle of the mess, for many will surely die from this event with Winter being right around the corner and reports already stating it could take months or even years to repair the damage done. This is another world-changing event in a time of world-changing events.
In the meantime, Germany and Russia have opened up investigations into the incident, and I suspect the relationship between the two nations might begin to heal going forward. I also suspect world events are going to take some very interesting turns in the very near-future, to say the least.
